Rachel & Rick. A Fig Tree Restaurant – Byron Bay Wedding.

Rachel & Rick. A Fig Tree Restaurant – Byron Bay Wedding.

Never let it be said that the Peet’s don’t know how to have a good time. Rachel & Rick’s wedding had a party atmosphere from start to finish and everyone had an absolute blast!

The couple moved up to the local region from Sydney just a few years ago and so most of their family and friends made the journey from the big-smoke for their special day. And when you are in a place like Byron Bay at a venue as amazing as Fig Tree Restaurant, it’s almost impossible not to have a great time!

The girls were staying at one of Fig Tree Restaurant’s newly renovated houses and had a very early start, being pampered and made up by the incredible talent of the Lovely Gypsies. The boys were staying off-site at a Villa in Ewingsdale and had a slightly slower start due to the previous night’s festivities.

When the time came for the ceremony, Rachel was led down the aisle by her bridesmaids and the couple’s three beautiful daughters.  Melissa Halliwell delivered a beautifully heartfelt service in front of one of the most amazing views in the country. Byron Bay certainly did put on a great show for Rachel & Rick!

The party continued long into the night with guests being entertained by DJ Kristen and the ever-enticing In the Booth photobooth.

Hope & Isaac. A Gorgeous Rous Mill Wedding.

Hope & Isaac. A Gorgeous Rous Mill Wedding.

Hope and Isaac were high school sweethearts whose love and affection grew over the course of six years, bringing them to this… their wedding day!

The day started with Hope and her bridesmaids being pampered by the girls at Lazuli Sisters Hair and Makeup Studio in Lismore. While they were in the midst of their preparations, I made a quick trip out to Casino to where the boys were all getting ready. As is so often the case with the groomsmen, this was a very casual, stress-free event, fuelled by a few ice-cold beers.

After another short stop in Lismore to catch the final stages of hair and make-up, the girls and I made our way to the couple’s home in Goonellabah where they all slipped into their gorgeous gowns before heading off to the wedding venue. Hope and Isaac chose Christine’s Church of the Two Grandfathers as the location for their wedding and what an absolutely magical setting this is. The church was originally built in 1895 and is one of the few timber churches in Australia that is still in it’s original condition. Now lovingly nestled next to a macadamia orchard and surrounded by a beautiful rose garden, it truly is a stunning location for a wedding.

Congratulations to a beautiful couple!

Stephanie & Christopher. A Bangalow Wedding.

Stephanie & Christopher. A Bangalow Wedding.

What an incredible day it was for Stephanie & Christopher’s wedding! Fun, relaxed, emotional… it was everything you would want your wedding day to be.

My day started with the boys’ preparation in Ballina at the Groom’s parents house… and conveniently also at their personal hairstylist who lives right nextdoor! The girls were all getting ready at the couple’s home in Cumbalum, before being whisked away to Bangalow by Forever Kombis.

I can honestly say that I have never seen The Moller Pavilion at Bangalow Showgrounds look as good as it did for Steph & Chris’ wedding. The couple did an incredible job with their rustic styling and The Alstonville Florist really outdid themselves with dressing the arbor and all the other floral delights.

As everyone gathered under the big ol’ fig tree, we could see the Kombi with the bridesmaids arrive at the entrance… but then it stood still… for much longer than Chris anticipated. Was it cold feet? A breakdown? Change of heart?? Thankfully not, somehow the gate that had just been unlocked minutes before had been locked again. Once everyone realised what the issue was, one of the groomsmen ran down to meet the Kombi with a key. At the same time, a couple of cheeky cows had decided to make their way through another gate to see what everyone was congregating under the tree for. Another groomsmen was tasked with herding the cattle back, and after a short while, everything was back on track.

The rest of the day ran like clockwork. Michelle Shannon delivered a beautifully heartfelt service (as she always does). The bridal party and I shot around the showgrounds and the main street of Bangalow before heading back to the Moller pavilion where the party really started.

Therese & Angelo. An Elements @ Byron Bay Wedding.

Therese & Angelo. An Elements @ Byron Bay Wedding.

Each year Therese and Angelo take a break from city life and head to Kingscliff to holiday with their two beautiful girls. This year, unbeknownst to all their family and friends, before heading to Kingscliff, they took a short stay at Elements of Byron and tied the knot.

The couple both come from Italian heritage and have already been together for 17 years… so it should come as no surprise that their wedding wasn’t going to be a traditional affair. The ceremony took place by the duck pond on the grounds of Elements, to the dulcet tones of Rhydian Lewis and was officiated by Therese’s life-long friend, Melissa Fahey.

After the ceremony, we strolled around the grounds of Elements and Belongil Beach, capturing memories as the sun set on what was a gorgeous day.

Back at Elements, the party was treated to an incredible meal, fantastic service and more wonderful music by Rhydian.

Kerrie & Owen. A Tucki Tucki Wedding.

Kerrie & Owen. A Tucki Tucki Wedding.

What an absolutely stunning day it was for Kerrie and Owen’s wedding last Saturday. Blue skies and uninterrupted views that stretched as far as the eye could see. The couple chose to hold their wedding on family property across the road from where they live at Tucki Tucki. Owen had spent many, many hours over the previous months clearing the land of boulders and lantarna, and the result was one of the nicest outdoor wedding locations anywhere around Lismore.

Kerrie and Owen were joined by their closest friends and family (and some of their favourite heifers) for a beautifully heartfelt ceremony officiated by Dot Orchard.

Once the formalities were out of the way, we spent the afternoon shooting in the gorgeous late afternoon light and then we all made our way to the Ballina RSL Club where the festivities continued long into the night.

Katrina & Craig. A Belongil Wedding.

Katrina & Craig. A Belongil Wedding.

What an incredible day it was for Kate and Craig’s wedding. Craig is a fellow photographer who is kicking all sorts of goals in the photography world at the moment, so it was a huge honour to be entrusted with shooting his wedding.

Kate and Craig met at a Movember charity event a few years back and since then the romance has just gone from strength to strength and last year the guys welcomed their son Leo into the world. Little Leo stole the show at various moments throughout the day, and just like his dad, has an automatic smile cover his face as soon as a camera is pointed towards it.

The couple chose to have an intimate gathering in the parkland behind the dunes at Belongil Beach, officiated by the lovely Kirsty Laing. It was a gorgeous afternoon, and once all the formalities were out of the way, we popped over to The Pass for a quick sunset photo session. Special thanks to another superstar photographer, Benjamin Lynch, for helping capture the ceremony and location shoot.

The reception was held at the Belongil Bistro, where everyone was treated to incredible food, wonderful service and great music by Matt Walker.
