Hope & Isaac. A Gorgeous Rous Mill Wedding.

Hope & Isaac. A Gorgeous Rous Mill Wedding.

Hope and Isaac were high school sweethearts whose love and affection grew over the course of six years, bringing them to this… their wedding day!

The day started with Hope and her bridesmaids being pampered by the girls at Lazuli Sisters Hair and Makeup Studio in Lismore. While they were in the midst of their preparations, I made a quick trip out to Casino to where the boys were all getting ready. As is so often the case with the groomsmen, this was a very casual, stress-free event, fuelled by a few ice-cold beers.

After another short stop in Lismore to catch the final stages of hair and make-up, the girls and I made our way to the couple’s home in Goonellabah where they all slipped into their gorgeous gowns before heading off to the wedding venue. Hope and Isaac chose Christine’s Church of the Two Grandfathers as the location for their wedding and what an absolutely magical setting this is. The church was originally built in 1895 and is one of the few timber churches in Australia that is still in it’s original condition. Now lovingly nestled next to a macadamia orchard and surrounded by a beautiful rose garden, it truly is a stunning location for a wedding.

Congratulations to a beautiful couple!

Carly & Coady. An Alstonville Wedding

There’s something about weddings that is so uplifting. We all seem to be so crazy busy these days that I guess it is a very rare thing that we  stop and collectively celebrate  together.  Perhaps, that’s why weddings are so fantastic, it gives us all an opportunity to take a moment – pause – and just feel the pure joy of two people in love.

I’ve been looking forward to Richard bringing home images from Carly and Coady’s Alstonville wedding. These two had me hooked from their engagement shoot, they are just a really sweet couple and we knew the wedding would be something beautiful. I’m a big fan of vintage weddings, accessories and colours and there are some really beautiful details in this wedding that just looked fantastic. Carly exuded classical beauty on the day and I just know these images are going to make a killer wedding album.

Carly and Coady, I’m glad your wedding day was everything you hoped it would be, we send our very best wishes for your radiant future together.

As a kid, is there anything better than a treehouse?  Of course, the kind you build yourself is always the best. It seems to be one of those memories that stays with you; dragging the wood and nails to your favorite tree and creating an amazing space that’s just for you and your friends.  The Hampson kids certainly have been working hard on building one of their own, complete with swings, rope ladders and a bucket for hoisting important goodies up to the higher branches. I think Dad, Paul, was a little surprised to find a number of items from his shed hanging from the tree when we came to shoot these images!

I’m always a little humbled by how lucky I am to do what I do. One: I really love it. Two: I really love being a part of keeping the memories for people. Every family portrait session is unique because the families I photograph are unique and I love that. Thanks for letting me be a part of your family for the afternoon Paul and Belinda. It was a lot of fun and I hope you love the images!

The Campbell Family. Alstonville Family Portrait Photography

What a great afternoon I had last Sunday photographing Richard and Di Campbell’s beautiful family. This was a shoot that we had tried to organise a few times previously but had been put off due to bad weather. Lately we’ve had nothing but sunshine, however a couple of hours before this shoot, the sky’s clouded over and we were wondering if we were going to have to reschedule yet again. Thankfully the weather held out and we had a ball shooting in and around their hidden oasis at the back of their property. Here is just a small sampling from the session.
