Felicity & Steve. A Duranbah Beach Engagement Session.

Felicity-steve-engagement-01

I had an absolute blast spending the afternoon with Felicity and Steve last week. Engagement sessions are quite often fun as we casually stroll around gorgeous locations, capturing images in a light-hearted, non-threatening manner. This shoot however, seemed to be a lot more fun than usual. Felicity and Steve were cracking each other up all afternoon and by the end of the shoot I had sore stomach muscles from joining in on the laughter.

The couple are going to be married at The Byron Bay Surf Club in Septemeber and if this shoot was anything to go by, everyone is in for a great time!

Melissa & James. A Bangalow Engagement Session.

Mel-James-Engagement-001

I spent a beautiful afternoon with Melissa & James recently at Bangalow’s newest wedding venue Forget Me Not Weddings. This venue is a hidden little oasis with gorgeous grounds, a great pond with rustic jetty and set amongst the rolling hills and countryside that make this part of the world so popular with wedding couples.

Melissa & James are to be married at the end of the month at the equally spectacular Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms, overlooking beautiful Byron Bay. If you are planning a wedding and happen to be in the area next weekend (June 20/21), pop into Fig Tree to see myself and many other wedding vendors at this year’s Byron Bay Wedding Fair. I’d love to discuss your wedding with you, so come along. I’ll be there all weekend.

Kym and Kent. The Pass, Byron Bay engagement session.

K&K-Blog-00808

It was a simply glorious afternoon on Tuesday in Byron Bay. I spent the last 90 minutes of daylight strolling between The Pass and Clarkes Beach, capturing these images for Kym & Kent on their engagement session shoot. We include an engagement session with each of our wedding packages. It’s a great way for everyone to get to know one another, and for me to understand what is important to the couple photographically. I believe this is something that shouldn’t wait until the wedding day and having this prior knowledge can only add to the quality of images captured on the big day.

Kym & Kent are to be married this Saturday in Alstonville with their reception at Down Convery’s Lane. Keep an eye on the blog for more from this stunning couple.

Laura & Thomas. A Byron Bay Engagement Photography Session.

RW7_8306-Edit

Laura and Thomas are all set to be married tomorrow at Clarkes Beach, Byron Bay. Earlier this week we spent the afternoon taking a few shots in and around The Farm at Byron Bay. It seems Thomas had tossed around the idea of a country wedding however Laura won out with her choice of a beach wedding, so it seemed only fair to have a country style engagement shoot. I haven’t been to The Farm for a few months but it sure has come a long way since my last visit. It looks like the restaurant and cheese factory are getting very close to completion. It will be a great venue for Byron Bay once it’s up and running… I can’t wait!

I also can’t wait to hit the beach tomorrow for Laura and Thomas’ wedding, and in this event, I won’t have to wait too long.

Jessica & Sam’s Engagement Session. Milson’s Point, Sydney.

engagement photography

While I was in Sydney for Australian Professional Photography awards this past weekend, I had the great pleasure of capturing some engagement images for Jessica and Sam. These guys are getting married at the beautiful Peppers Resort in Bowral next April and if Saturday afternoon was anything to go by, I’m sure the day will be one full of laughs and full of love.

Sydney put on a gorgeous afternoon for us as we took a leisurely stroll around Milson’s Point. In a city of four and a half million people, it’s incredible just how many peaceful, secluded spots you can find once you start looking… even right next to a busy theme park full of photographers!
