Some people refer to crepuscular rays of light as the ‘fingers of God’, and well, if that’s the case, these guys received an almighty high-five on their wedding day. The view of the sunset from the Byron Bay lighthouse was simply spectacular, as was the rest of Felicity and Steve’s magical day.
The couple both prepared for the big event at nearby hotel rooms in Byron and the ceremony and reception took place at The Byron Bay Surf Club. With around 125 guests, the Surf Club is one of the few venues in Byron that can cater for a crowd that size and I have never seen it look better than it did on this day. Pip from Byron Audio did an incredible job with the styling and the team from Fig Tree Restaurant ensured the meals were amazing and the general running of the day was as smooth as silk.

It was a very relaxed scene when I arrived at the house where the boys were getting ready. No sign of nerves anywhere and it seemed to stay like that all day. The guys were very accommodating, cracking open beers (strictly for the sake of the camera of course) and even indulging in a few ‘boy-band’ style poses.
Things were very similar when I arrived at Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms where the girls were preparing for the day. The girls were all laughing and joking like they were preparing for a night on the town. Gabrielle was sitting on the floor doing her own make-up… and she did such a sensational job it was obvious she had professional experience. As a photographer, it is always nice to have someone who really knows what they are doing when it comes to make-up. It makes everything on the day so much easier and post-production becomes a breeze. Gabrielle’s make-up was right up there with some of the best I think I have ever photographed.
Gabby & Mitch had selected a great team to assist in making their day everything they had dreamed it would be. The team at Fig Tree were amazing as always, Michelle Shannon kept things light and fun with a wonderful service, the guys from Byron Wedding Visual looked after the videography (and kept me entertained throughout the day), transport was taken care of by Shaggy at The Magic Bus and the boy’s Lincoln was supplied by Byron Bay Classic Wedding Cars. The cake was one of Rebel from Rebellyous Cake Co‘s incredible creations, the flowers were by Britt at Beautiflora and the girl’s hair was styled by OMG! Hair Bar on the Gold Coast.
All in all it was a truly beautiful day and I’m just happy I got to play a part in it… thanks guys!

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… Renee had everything checked off in her preparations, the most impressive of which was ‘something old’. Tom’s family have had a small bluebird hairpin in the family for generations and Renee was the eighteenth bride to wear it down the aisle. I think that’s incredible and I’m sure she won’t be the last bride to feature this pin in their wedding attire.
Renee and Tom’s ceremony and reception were held at Byron Bay’s popular Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms. As usual the team at Fig Tree did an amazing job ensuring the entire day ran without a glitch.
I hope you guys have had a ball in Fiji. I look forward to catching up soon.

Sarah and Justin are somewhere in the world having a great time. Just where I’m not sure, and Sarah didn’t know on their wedding day either. You see Justin had planned a surprise honeymoon, and knowing just how extensively they have both travelled, I’m sure the location is somewhere absolutely awesome!
Sarah & Justin are both amazing people and they couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day. Everything ran smoothly all day and the weather was simply perfect. They were married at Fig Tree Restaurant and held their reception under the stars in the same location. Many of the guests had travelled from Sarah’s homeland of Canada and got to spend a full week experiencing everything this area has to offer.
Wherever you guys are I hope you are having an incredible time, and I look forward to catching up when you return. For now, here’s a little reminder of your special day…

There is nothing quite like a designer wedding album. For me, the best part of my job is handing over the finished album and seeing the reactions of the bride and groom. The joy, the laughter, the tears as they relive their special day through the pages of a gorgeous storybook. During my time as a wedding photographer, I have used several album companies, but none have equalled the quality of the company I have now been using exclusively for a little more than two years. The colour, the clarity, the quality are all superb and make for a product that will not only be enjoyed by the couple, but also by their children, and quite possibly their children.
I haven’t been shooting much through February, which means I have been a little quiet on the blog. I have however been designing many albums, all of which I hope to share with you over the coming weeks. This album is of the wedding of Kate and Magid, held at Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms last September. Kate and Magid are an amazing couple who I am very pleased to now consider friends. Their album has been printed on thick museum quality fine art paper and was too big for just one album… so we created two volumes. Here they are for your viewing pleasure… enjoy!
Volume One
Volume Two
