Karen & Graeme. A Byron Bay Beach Wedding.

header

It’s no surprise that so many couples choose a Byron Bay wedding. With her pristine beaches and stunning scenery, Byron Bay certainly has a lot to offer. Karen and Graeme both love the beach and first met when Karen enrolled in Graeme’s Surf School, so a Byron wedding and an Hawaiian honeymoon seemed the perfect choice!

The wedding ceremony was gorgeous and a real family affair. Graeme’s boys Lenny and Bowie were the best men and the couple’s daughter Lily was the gorgeous little flowergirl. Throughout the day we experienced bright, bright sunshine, sun showers and strong winds during the location shoot at the Byron Bay Lighthouse, but it all made for a beautiful day that was capped off with an absolutely spectacular sunset!

Here are just a few of the images from your day guys. I hope you are having a ball in Hawaii!

Rebecca & Garth. Bangalow Engagement Session

Bec_Garth_001

January is always a very busy time of year for me as I catch up with finalising album layouts, edit up our recent weddings and start planning for the wedding season ahead. It often means many, many, many hours at my desk and it is always a welcome break when I can schedule some shooting time away from the computer!  So, while it was a productive week, I was more than happy to finish the week with the engagement session of Rebecca and Garth, shot in Bangalow – our home town.

Rebecca and Garth are in the region for a few days while they finalise all the arrangements for their beautiful Yamba wedding to be held in March. We kept the afternoon very relaxed and simply took a casual stroll along the train tracks in Bangalow. There are a couple of locations I see everyday and until now hadn’t had the opportunity to shoot in. It was great to be able to use these locations and we all had an enjoyable afternoon, getting to know one another and making images that I hope they will love. Here’s a preview of  what turned out to be a fantastic afternoon. I can’t wait until the wedding!

Debbie & Jaco. A Brisbane Wedding.

Header copy

For six long months, Debbie’s mum had worked tirelessly to create gorgeous button bouquets and accessories for Debbie and Jaco’s Brisbane wedding. It was obvious that Deb’s mum wanted the very best for her on her wedding day, and from the proud look on Dad’s face as he walked her down the aisle, he also wanted the very best for his ‘little girl’ – after all, it was Debbie’s Dad who introduced the bride and groom, so he had to be happy with her choice!

I have been lucky enough to photograph two weddings for this fantastic family and being asked to shoot this wedding, just a few days before the close of the year, was one of my highlights of 2012. Debbie and Jaco are an amazing couple and the wedding really was a heartfelt celebration of their love.

Debbie looked stunning in her elegant bridal gown, Jaco beamed all day, everyone was relaxed and then add to that, the beautiful Brisbane locations, and all the lovely details of the wedding – it just made my job too easy! With guests travelling from all over the world, this was a truly special celebration and I’m honored to have had my small role in it. Congratulations guys, I hope you enjoy this sneak peek of your photos.

Rosemary & Collin. Glengariff Estate Wedding.

The reason I include an Engagement portrait session with all our packages is simple – it gives me a chance to get to know the people I photograph. It also gives them a chance to get to know me and my style of photography and hopefully, that puts them at ease on their wedding day and makes them feel more comfortable in front of the camera.  I can usually guess a lot about  an upcoming wedding from the engagement session, and with Rosemary and Collin’s engagement shoot, I just knew their wedding was going to be beautiful. It’s very uplifting to spend a special day with a couple who are so passionately in love with one another.  On several occasions leading up to their wedding, I asked them for details and every time Collin would respond with “Whatever Rosie wants”.  This wasn’t a ‘I-don’t-care-do-whatever-she-wants‘ response, but more a ‘I-love-this-woman-so-much-I-want-our-day-to-be-everything-she-ever-dreamed-it-would-be’ type reply.

The day started with hair and make-up in Brisbane city and ended with the ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Glengariff Historic Estate in Dayboro. Spending a beautiful day, with a gorgeous couple, at a stunning location… my job could be worse!

I hope you enjoy the preview guys and I look forward to catching up with you when you return from your honeymoon.

Carly & Coady. An Alstonville Wedding

There’s something about weddings that is so uplifting. We all seem to be so crazy busy these days that I guess it is a very rare thing that we  stop and collectively celebrate  together.  Perhaps, that’s why weddings are so fantastic, it gives us all an opportunity to take a moment – pause – and just feel the pure joy of two people in love.

I’ve been looking forward to Richard bringing home images from Carly and Coady’s Alstonville wedding. These two had me hooked from their engagement shoot, they are just a really sweet couple and we knew the wedding would be something beautiful. I’m a big fan of vintage weddings, accessories and colours and there are some really beautiful details in this wedding that just looked fantastic. Carly exuded classical beauty on the day and I just know these images are going to make a killer wedding album.

Carly and Coady, I’m glad your wedding day was everything you hoped it would be, we send our very best wishes for your radiant future together.
