Last Sunday was the perfect day for a portrait session on the beach at Cabarita… pleasant temperatures, no wind, insane pastel skies, in fact the only part of the afternoon that wasn’t ideal was the drive to Cabarita. The Byron Bay Bluesfest traffic had many of us driving for an hour or so more than we’d have liked, but the journey was certainly worth it. The Fleming family were a lot of fun to spend the afternoon with and I think we all had a ball.

Fiona and Simon’s wedding took place at Clarkes beach on a gorgeous Byron Bay afternoon. What I remember most about Fiona and Simon’s Byron Beach Cafe reception is the laughter. Truly loving family and friends have a way of drawing emotion from you without even trying. The speeches were all so heartfelt that the only time the laughter stopped was when someone needed to pause and wipe away the tears of joy… and then the laughter started again.
“Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can; all of them make me laugh.” – W.H. Auden
Fiona and Simon, thanks for letting me be apart of your very, very happy day.

Byron Bay is a fantastic place for a destination wedding. Quite a few of my clients live out of town and travel to the beautiful beaches and the amazing wedding venues that Byron Bay offers.
All of my wedding packages include an engagement session, which usually takes place months prior to the wedding but because Fiona & Simon live in Sydney and weren’t in the region until a few days before their wedding, instead we used their complimentary engagement session as an opportunity to get their girls Ella & Lucy comfortable in front of the camera. We all had a great time running around and jumping in the waves, especially Ella & Lucy.
Fiona and Simon were married yesterday with a beautiful beach ceremony on the pristine shores of Byron Bay followed by a fun reception with friends and family at the Byron Beach Cafe… but more on that later this week (keep an eye out for the blog post).
