When I first met Georgie and Chris, I just knew their wedding day was going to be a whole lot of fun… and it certainly was. I spent the day surrounded by some of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. The bridal party was full of larrikins and lovely ladies and felt more like a day out with friends than a regular ‘ol workday.
Alex Ouston looked after the hair and makeup for the girls and as usual, she and her team did a wonderful job. Alex has spent many years doing makeup for TV networks and it really shows. Her work photographs beautifully. The ever-lovely Michelle Shannon worked her usual magic and delivered a beautifully heartfelt ceremony. After the formalities, the guests were treated to the musical delights of The Paper Flowers, while the bridal party and I headed offsite for photos in a few locations around Byron Bay… travelling in style in a pair of 1964 Kombis supplied by The Vintage Wagon.
The team at The Wedding Shed certainly put their mark on Fig Tree. This venue always looks incredible, but for Georgie & Chris’ wedding, it was a whole new level of amazing. The couple encased their outdoor dining area with a marquee frame, decorated with soft fabrics, gorgeous chandeliers, and beautiful flower arrangements by the uber talented Estelle from The French Petal. This was the first time I have ever seen Fig Tree dressed like this… but I’m sure it won’t be the last.

It was a beautiful day on the Gold Coast the day Carissa and Park were married, and the Sheraton Mirage was the perfect venue to host the event. Their ceremony took place in a private clearing surrounded by palm trees, right in the middle of the resort. The couple were joined by an intimate gathering of family and friends who had travelled far and wide to join them on their special day. Most of Park’s family had travelled all the way from Thailand to be a part of the festivities.
The entire day ran like clockwork, largely due to the work of Lee from A Fabulous Event. The reception was held in the Horizons Room where I caught up with an old mate I hadn’t seen for about 15 years… Nik from NikNat Entertainment, who kept everyone kicking up their heels on the dancefloor long after I had hung up my cameras for the evening. The couple also scored a complimentary fireworks show, just as they started their first dance… courtesy of another event at the resort.

Many couples choose Byron Bay as the location for their wedding day. With her world-class beaches, relaxed atmosphere and abundance of amazing wedding venues, it’s a pretty easy decision. Steph and Dylan’s reasoning though, is a little more unique than most. You see, both Steph and Dylan’s families both used to holiday in Byron Bay and on one occasion, many years ago, they happened to book cabins right next to one another. There was an instant attraction at first sight and the guys have been virtually inseparable ever since.
The wedding and reception were both held at Byron Bay’s incredibly popular Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms. Master Celebrant Benjamin Carlyle injected his unique style of humour and groovy vibes into the ceremony and the guys from North Coast Entertainment kept everyone partying long into the night. The gorgeous Kombi was supplied by Alex at Coast 58.

Take a great couple, put them in a gorgeous location, surround them with amazing family and friends… and you’re simply bound to have an incredible day. And that’s exactly what Rebecca and Liam’s wedding day was… incredible! The boys were all getting ready at Sunrise House on the Fig Tree property, while the girls were preparing for the big down in the heart of Byron Bay. The ceremony and reception both took place at Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms, and as usual, they did an amazing job. Once the sun had set, the outdoor dining area looked better than I have ever seen it before! As a photographer, one of the things I love most about shooting at Fig Tree is not only all the gorgeous locations on site, but it is also just a few minutes away from a number of other great locations. We shot in several offsite spots and were only gone for an hour or so. The guests were having so much fun I don’t think they even realised we’d gone!
Josh Boots and the guys from NCE entertained the guests with great live acoustic tunes throughout the afternoon and all the latest tunes on the dancefloor all through the night.

From start to finish, Therese and Timothy’s wedding was everything they imagined it to be… and 100% THEM! The boys started the day with a few quiet drinks at the Bangalow Hotel while the girls prepared for the big day at the couple’s house in Suffolk Park. The ceremony was held at St Kevin’s Catholic Church and Therese’s family priest made the trek to Bangalow to officiate the ceremony. After a few bridal party and family photos around the church, the couple and I headed up to a private property overlooking Byron Bay. Although it was rather overcast, we still had spectacular views over Byron Bay… and the moody clouds were great for photos!
The reception was held in Bangalow’s historic A & I Hall. I have been to and photographed many events at the hall and it often looks fantastic when styled well. On the night of Tess & Tim’s wedding, I had never seen it look so good. Pip from Byron Audio truly out did himself this time. The place looked absolutely magical. During the reception, the best man gave a speech that I’m sure the guests will be talking about for years to come. Delivered in the form of song and dance, with a Steve Carell-esque feeling to it, he had the entire hall in fits of laughter while poking fun at Tim, but knowing exactly how far he could go without harming the tight bond these guys have. I’m giggling again now just thinking back to it.
For the couple’s first dance they totally rocked out to Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love, performed to perfection by The Feramones. It was the quickest I have ever seen all the guests jump up to join in and they were all still rocking long after I hung up my cameras for the night.

Sarah and Jordan were married amongst family and friends at Byron Bay’s popular Fig Tree Restaurant. It was a glorious day in this part of the world and every element of the wedding was thought out and executed to perfection. The gents were all looking very dapper and the ladies very elegant in their beautiful gowns. There were tears aplenty during the ceremony and an abundance of laughter during the rest of the day. This was the coming together of two New Zealand families and so there were touches of Maori tradition throughout the day… including a traditional haka initiated by the bride’s brother.
