Diane & Josh. Mt Coot-tha Engagement Session

brisbane wedding photographer

City Gardens can be such magical places. Hidden oases within the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced city. The Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha are certainly no exception. I hadn’t been to the gardens since we moved out of Brisbane, so it was nice to revisit them and although the carpark was full and there must have been hundreds of people within the gardens, it was easy to think we had the place all to ourselves.

Diane & Josh are getting married in Indooroopilly next April. The Mt Cooth-tha Gardens were one of the other venues they were considering for their wedding, so it was nice to be able to use this as the backdrop for their engagement session. This was such a relaxed and casual shoot, I can’t wait until the wedding in April.

Debbie & Jaco. A Brisbane Wedding.

Header copy

For six long months, Debbie’s mum had worked tirelessly to create gorgeous button bouquets and accessories for Debbie and Jaco’s Brisbane wedding. It was obvious that Deb’s mum wanted the very best for her on her wedding day, and from the proud look on Dad’s face as he walked her down the aisle, he also wanted the very best for his ‘little girl’ – after all, it was Debbie’s Dad who introduced the bride and groom, so he had to be happy with her choice!

I have been lucky enough to photograph two weddings for this fantastic family and being asked to shoot this wedding, just a few days before the close of the year, was one of my highlights of 2012. Debbie and Jaco are an amazing couple and the wedding really was a heartfelt celebration of their love.

Debbie looked stunning in her elegant bridal gown, Jaco beamed all day, everyone was relaxed and then add to that, the beautiful Brisbane locations, and all the lovely details of the wedding – it just made my job too easy! With guests travelling from all over the world, this was a truly special celebration and I’m honored to have had my small role in it. Congratulations guys, I hope you enjoy this sneak peek of your photos.

Rosemary & Collin. Glengariff Estate Wedding.

The reason I include an Engagement portrait session with all our packages is simple – it gives me a chance to get to know the people I photograph. It also gives them a chance to get to know me and my style of photography and hopefully, that puts them at ease on their wedding day and makes them feel more comfortable in front of the camera.  I can usually guess a lot about  an upcoming wedding from the engagement session, and with Rosemary and Collin’s engagement shoot, I just knew their wedding was going to be beautiful. It’s very uplifting to spend a special day with a couple who are so passionately in love with one another.  On several occasions leading up to their wedding, I asked them for details and every time Collin would respond with “Whatever Rosie wants”.  This wasn’t a ‘I-don’t-care-do-whatever-she-wants‘ response, but more a ‘I-love-this-woman-so-much-I-want-our-day-to-be-everything-she-ever-dreamed-it-would-be’ type reply.

The day started with hair and make-up in Brisbane city and ended with the ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Glengariff Historic Estate in Dayboro. Spending a beautiful day, with a gorgeous couple, at a stunning location… my job could be worse!

I hope you enjoy the preview guys and I look forward to catching up with you when you return from your honeymoon.
