It was a very relaxed scene when I arrived at the house where the boys were getting ready. No sign of nerves anywhere and it seemed to stay like that all day. The guys were very accommodating, cracking open beers (strictly for the sake of the camera of course) and even indulging in a few ‘boy-band’ style poses.
Things were very similar when I arrived at Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms where the girls were preparing for the day. The girls were all laughing and joking like they were preparing for a night on the town. Gabrielle was sitting on the floor doing her own make-up… and she did such a sensational job it was obvious she had professional experience. As a photographer, it is always nice to have someone who really knows what they are doing when it comes to make-up. It makes everything on the day so much easier and post-production becomes a breeze. Gabrielle’s make-up was right up there with some of the best I think I have ever photographed.
Gabby & Mitch had selected a great team to assist in making their day everything they had dreamed it would be. The team at Fig Tree were amazing as always, Michelle Shannon kept things light and fun with a wonderful service, the guys from Byron Wedding Visual looked after the videography (and kept me entertained throughout the day), transport was taken care of by Shaggy at The Magic Bus and the boy’s Lincoln was supplied by Byron Bay Classic Wedding Cars. The cake was one of Rebel from Rebellyous Cake Co‘s incredible creations, the flowers were by Britt at Beautiflora and the girl’s hair was styled by OMG! Hair Bar on the Gold Coast.
All in all it was a truly beautiful day and I’m just happy I got to play a part in it… thanks guys!

Byron Bay is a fantastic place for a destination wedding. Quite a few of my clients live out of town and travel to the beautiful beaches and the amazing wedding venues that Byron Bay offers.
All of my wedding packages include an engagement session, which usually takes place months prior to the wedding but because Fiona & Simon live in Sydney and weren’t in the region until a few days before their wedding, instead we used their complimentary engagement session as an opportunity to get their girls Ella & Lucy comfortable in front of the camera. We all had a great time running around and jumping in the waves, especially Ella & Lucy.
Fiona and Simon were married yesterday with a beautiful beach ceremony on the pristine shores of Byron Bay followed by a fun reception with friends and family at the Byron Beach Cafe… but more on that later this week (keep an eye out for the blog post).

Byron Bay put on another gorgeous day for the destination wedding of Edwina and Chad. Clear skies, golden beaches and the most relaxed vibe you could ask for. The entire day was just a whole lot of fun and both Edwina and Chad are two of the most easy-going, happy people you could ever have the pleasure to meet.
Chiquita Mitchell performed a beautiful beach ceremony on Clarkes Beach and the reception was held at the Byron Beach Cafe. The team at the Beach Cafe did a great job as usual making sure the evening ran smoothly and everyone had a ball.
Thanks for letting me be a part of your day guys… I had a blast!

Welcome to the wedding of Erin & Evan. Sit back, relax and grab a beverage because this is quite a long post. As a Byron Bay wedding photographer, it’s always great to shoot a wedding that shows off much of what the local region has to offer and this wedding did just that. We shot in a few new locations that I’d been wanting to shoot in for quite some time and the weather was simply fantastic… so great in fact that Erin, Evan and their family and friends all got to enjoy their meals al fresco under a moonlit sky. The team at Figtree did an exceptional job as usual, ensuring the day ran without a hitch and from beginning to end, the day was simply magical.
Oh and if you are wondering where Erin got her stunning dress from… it was handmade by Evan’s mum!

Well it was only a couple of weeks ago that I posted Kim & Stuart’s engagement session and at the time I predicted that their wedding was going to be a blast. And guess what? I was spot on!
This wedding had everything – stunning venues with spectacular views, beautiful styling, threatening storms that only delivered a few drops of rain, the most incredible late afternoon skies you could possibly imagine and of course, an amazing, fun-loving couple!
The ceremony took place at Byron View Farm and was officiated by the lovely Cara Gallagher of Modern Love Ceremonies. After a few drinks and nibblies, the guests all boarded ‘Classic Red’ the double decker bus and headed off to the Byron Beach Cafe for an evening filled with good company, great food and lots and lots of laughter!
