Renee & Liam’s gorgeous Byron Bay wedding featured some of the best the region has to offer. Liam and his family prepared themselves at a stunning property overlooking The Pass, while Renee’s preparations took place at Byron’s iconic Rae’s at Wategos. Uber talented David Dibley and Mia Conner looked after Renee’s hair and makeup before everyone made their way to the ever-popular Fig Tree Restaurant.
I’ve shot a lot of weddings at Fig Tree and I never tire of it. In fact, it seems to just keep getting better and better each time I’m there. One of the venue’s greatest assets is its staff. They work together like a well-oiled machine and no request ever seems to be a problem. It truly is a joy to work amongst such professionals. For Renee and Liam’s wedding, the venue was styled by The Wedding Shed and Byron Bay Weddings and featured beautiful floral creations from the Alstonville Florist.
The couple’s ceremony was officiated by the lovely Clarah Luxford. With crystal clear views of the Byron coastline as a backdrop to the ceremony, it’s hard to imagine a better place to start a life together… and I’m sure theirs is going to be a wonderful one. Congrats guys!

Take a great couple, put them in a gorgeous location, surround them with amazing family and friends… and you’re simply bound to have an incredible day. And that’s exactly what Rebecca and Liam’s wedding day was… incredible! The boys were all getting ready at Sunrise House on the Fig Tree property, while the girls were preparing for the big down in the heart of Byron Bay. The ceremony and reception both took place at Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms, and as usual, they did an amazing job. Once the sun had set, the outdoor dining area looked better than I have ever seen it before! As a photographer, one of the things I love most about shooting at Fig Tree is not only all the gorgeous locations on site, but it is also just a few minutes away from a number of other great locations. We shot in several offsite spots and were only gone for an hour or so. The guests were having so much fun I don’t think they even realised we’d gone!
Josh Boots and the guys from NCE entertained the guests with great live acoustic tunes throughout the afternoon and all the latest tunes on the dancefloor all through the night.

Melissa and James’ wedding seemed as though it was going to be wet, wet, wet and for most of the day it was. There were glimpses of sunshine throughout the morning, followed by showers and then a little more sunshine. Fig Tree was set up for an outdoor ceremony and the staff were constantly keeping an eye on local radars to navigate the day through the weather. With just a short delay, the ceremony took place and for a while we couldn’t have asked for better conditions. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, birds were singing and circling overhead and there was even a rainbow shining over Byron Bay. It was simply beautiful!
The relief that the break in the weather provided, combined with the light-hearted, charismatic and often humorous delivery of the service by Benjamin Carlyle, meant that everyone’s spirits were lifted and much of the ceremony was spent in bouts of laughter.
The team at Fig Treet Restaurant & Rooms once again provided exceptional service throughout the entire day and the reception was an absolute blast!

Gabrielle and Mitchell arrived in Byron Bay last week from Port Hedland and will be married at Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms tomorrow. The guys spent quite a bit of time travelling around the country and during their travels sought out the perfect location and venue for their special day. It’s no surprise they chose picturesque Byron Bay and the team at Fig Tree are certainly some of the best in the business! Gabrielle and Mitchell… you chose well.
On Monday afternoon we all spent some time together watching the sunset from The Pass. These guys are such a fun couple and have great chemistry which always makes a shoot like this so much fun. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s wedding!

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… Renee had everything checked off in her preparations, the most impressive of which was ‘something old’. Tom’s family have had a small bluebird hairpin in the family for generations and Renee was the eighteenth bride to wear it down the aisle. I think that’s incredible and I’m sure she won’t be the last bride to feature this pin in their wedding attire.
Renee and Tom’s ceremony and reception were held at Byron Bay’s popular Fig Tree Restaurant & Rooms. As usual the team at Fig Tree did an amazing job ensuring the entire day ran without a glitch.
I hope you guys have had a ball in Fiji. I look forward to catching up soon.
