Laura & Corey were married a few weeks ago at the stunning Bangalow Guesthouse. The Guesthouse is the perfect venue for a garden wedding with gorgeous grounds and luxurious rooms for all of the preparations. Laura and her bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning… and were only occasionally upstaged by the beautiful flowergirls.
The reception was held in Bangalow’s historic A&I Hall. Multi-talented Rhydian Lewis provided the entertainment for the evening, and also joined me earlier in the day photographing the event.

Christie & Mitchell were planning to wed at Boulders Beach, just south of Lennox Head, however the uncertain weather and wet lead up to their big day, had them opt for their wet-weather option… The Ballina Manor. The couple were always planning to get ready at the manor and have their reception there, but as it turned out, they also had their ceremony there as well.
There was a flurry of activity in the room where the girls were getting ready. Christie, her bridesmaids, four gorgeous flowergirls, hair and make-up experts, as well as additional support cast filled the room with an endless stream of activity. In the boys room, well, the boys were being boys, casually waiting for the clock to tick down to that moment when they absolutely had to get dressed.
Tears were flowing everywhere during the beautiful ceremony and the sun made an appearance, so we all headed out to Boulder’s for some fun location shots. Then it was back to the Manor where everyone enjoyed some incredible food and festivities for the rest of the evening.

I love beach weddings… and there is no shortage of beautiful spots to host one in this part of the country. This was my first time shooting a wedding at Ballina’s Lighthouse Beach though, and it proved to be absolutely gorgeous. It was a hot, hot day in Ballina the morning of Nikki and Shaun’s wedding and I’m sure the guys were rethinking the three-piece suits there for a while. Fortunately though, by the time the ceremony started, there was a lovely gentle breeze cooling things down in this protected corner of the beach.
The day started with a quick visit to E’Clips Hair Salon in Ballina where the girls were all being styled by the amazing Emily and her team. Then it was off to Nikki & Shaun’s place where the boys were donning their suits. The girls had the incredible Alex Ouston taking care of their makeup in a luxury room at Ballina’s Ramada Hotel. Flowers were supplied by the Alstonville Florist and the reception was hosted and catered by the Lighthouse Beach Cafe.

I always prepare a runsheet that I have close at hand during a wedding day with timings and contact numbers for the various locations throughout the day. For Renai and Andrew’s wedding however, I literally had to draw myself a picture! You see the Groomsmen were all getting ready in Qld and the Bridesmaids in NSW. The ceremony took place in Qld and the reception in NSW. With a 1 hour time difference when crossing the border, I had to be so cautious of making sure I was in the right place at the right time… everytime throughout the day.
Renai and Andrew’s ceremony was held at Shamba Malaika, a gorgeous country hideaway in the Currumbin Valley and their reception was at the newly refurbished Babalou in Kingscliff. In fact, their ‘party’ was the first event in the new digs. Flowers were supplied by Wild Lotus xxx, Hair by Melissa Button, Make-up by Bronnie Davis (who also had the important task of bridesmaid and on-hand-make-up-touch-up-person) and the cake was the creative work of Greg’s Cakes. The whole event was styled and co-ordinated by the lovely Jo Mulquin.
The entire day was such a complete joy. These guys are such a fun couple and were surrounded by an incredible bunch of family and friends… and they even picked up a few new fans at the Kingscliff Caravan Park (see below)

I hadn’t shot at Barefoot at Broken Head before Paula & Patrick’s wedding. This hidden oasis is just a short walk to the beach and provides a very secluded, relaxed atmosphere which was absolutely perfect for this wedding. The entire afternoon felt much more like a fun backyard BBQ with friends then your typical wedding (except in this case, instead of a backyard BBQ, Eat Drink Catering provided a wonderful selection of canapés and a sensational Singapore noodle bar!).
Entertainment consisted of a fancy-dress DIY photobooth, giant Jenga and the acoustic delights of local singer/songwriter Luke Vassella. The very fitting wedding cake was supplied by Eat that Cake, flowers by Liz North and the ceremony was officiated by Kath Murphy.
