I love shooting engagement portrait sessions. I know, I know.. I’ve said it before but it is such a great time to capture a couple in love, right before the inevitable hustle and bustle of the wedding day. I usually aim to shoot the portrait session about 6 months before the wedding.  I mainly do this so the couple have a chance to use the images in the lead up to their wedding. Whether they want the images on a save-the-date cards, wedding invitations or a wedding guest book or they simply want some prints for their walls, it gives them time to decide before the big day.

With Debbie and Jaco however, the engagement portrait session didn’t happen until last week … and their wedding is tomorrow! Debbie has been working throughout regional Queensland for most of the year and as a result, we were only able to schedule the portrait session close to the wedding date. Still – I’m sure they will enjoy the images for many, many years to come and it is nice to capture a couple literally right before their wedding day when they are brimming with excitement.

I’m super excited about shooting their wedding tomorrow. I was the photographer at Debbie’s sister Louise’s wedding just last year and had an absolute ball with the bridal party. Catching up with everyone again will be like catching up with old friends. Brisbane weddings are always a pleasure to shoot and we have some great spots lined up for the location shots. I just know it’s going to be a fantastic day!
