Laura and Thomas are all set to be married tomorrow at Clarkes Beach, Byron Bay. Earlier this week we spent the afternoon taking a few shots in and around The Farm at Byron Bay. It seems Thomas had tossed around the idea of a country wedding however Laura won out with her choice of a beach wedding, so it seemed only fair to have a country style engagement shoot. I haven’t been to The Farm for a few months but it sure has come a long way since my last visit. It looks like the restaurant and cheese factory are getting very close to completion. It will be a great venue for Byron Bay once it’s up and running… I can’t wait!
I also can’t wait to hit the beach tomorrow for Laura and Thomas’ wedding, and in this event, I won’t have to wait too long.

While I was in Sydney for Australian Professional Photography awards this past weekend, I had the great pleasure of capturing some engagement images for Jessica and Sam. These guys are getting married at the beautiful Peppers Resort in Bowral next April and if Saturday afternoon was anything to go by, I’m sure the day will be one full of laughs and full of love.
Sydney put on a gorgeous afternoon for us as we took a leisurely stroll around Milson’s Point. In a city of four and a half million people, it’s incredible just how many peaceful, secluded spots you can find once you start looking… even right next to a busy theme park full of photographers!

About five or ten minutes into Paula and Patrick’s engagement session, we were caught in a downpour and for a while were debating whether to sit it out or to try again another day. Thankfully we stuck it out and good ol’ Byron Bay presented herself with an absolutely gorgeous afternoon. Even though everyone was a little wetter than we would have liked, one good thing that came from the rain was that it cleared the beach for us. Apart from a few surfers, we had Wattegos all to ourselves which is quite rare indeed.
Little Emma, who was quite shy when we began, was stealing the limelight by the end of the shoot and I’m sure she’ll play an important role in Paula and Patrick’s November wedding at Broken Head.

Byron Bay is a fantastic place for a destination wedding. Quite a few of my clients live out of town and travel to the beautiful beaches and the amazing wedding venues that Byron Bay offers.
All of my wedding packages include an engagement session, which usually takes place months prior to the wedding but because Fiona & Simon live in Sydney and weren’t in the region until a few days before their wedding, instead we used their complimentary engagement session as an opportunity to get their girls Ella & Lucy comfortable in front of the camera. We all had a great time running around and jumping in the waves, especially Ella & Lucy.
Fiona and Simon were married yesterday with a beautiful beach ceremony on the pristine shores of Byron Bay followed by a fun reception with friends and family at the Byron Beach Cafe… but more on that later this week (keep an eye out for the blog post).

It was a glorious morning at Burleigh Heads the morning we shot Melinda and Jonathan’s engagement session. The 5am start was certainly worth it to be able to witness such a beautiful sunrise. The nature walk is a popular destination for local walkers and runners and I think we were all hoping it would be a little quieter than it is in the afternoon… sadly, I think it was just as busy, if not busier. On the up side, there are plenty of little nooks and crannies off the pathway that are perfect backdrops for portraits, so we made use of as many as we could.
Melinda and Jonathan will be getting married next May at the Abbey, Cobaki. The Abbey is a gorgeous open air, lakeside chapel that is as picturesque as it sounds. I can’t wait for their big day.
