The Carter Family – Ballina Family Portrait Session

It seems like only yesterday that I was photographing the Carter family. I covered Stacey Carter’s wedding late last year and for Mother’s Day this year, she gave her mum Joy a gift voucher for this photo session. It was wonderful to see everyone again and while we had to duck for cover a few times during sudden bursts of rain, all in all I think everyone had a great afternoon.

Renai & Andrew – Burleigh Heads Engagement Session

burleigh heads wedding engagement

It seems to be engagement season for us. As the main Wedding season winds back, it’s time to get out there and get back into shooting Engagement portraits for our upcoming 2013/14 weddings.  Richard loves to shoot engagement portraits for two main reasons: one – he gets to get out there and visit sites he may not have seen before and two – his portrait sessions are super relaxed and always fun. April and May seem to be the months when we schedule a ton of engagement portrait sessions and over the next few weeks we will have quite a few lovely couples to introduce you to.

Renai and Andrew are one such gorgeous couple who wanted their portraits taken in the stunning  Burleigh Heads National Park. This amazing area is practically on their doorstep – it’s a great place for them to unwind and the perfect spot for their engagement portrait. Rich was excited about this shoot because he loves nothing more than getting out into nature and taking photographs surrounded by trees – you might have to climb a few rocks or scale a few trees to get the shots he wants but, I’m sure you’ll agree, the results speak for themselves.

We hope that Renai and Andrew enjoy the next year of planning for their upcoming wedding at Boomerang Farm, they are such a great couple we just know their wedding is going to be something beautiful.

Rosemary & Collin. New Farm Engagement Session

There were no fake smiles or false kisses at this photo shoot. Every time Rosemary and Collin looked at one another they both simply beamed! I think I spent more time trying to pry them apart than encouraging them to embrace. Well, that may not be entirely true, but there is no questioning just how in love they both are and their smiles and laughter made for a very enjoyable afternoon. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next month at Dayboro’s gorgeous Glengariff Estate.

The Kearey Family. Eureka Family Portrait Session

We all know how busy life can be. It seems that these days, everyone has a million and one things to think about and do. It’s often really difficult to take time out and think about our journey through life – most of us are too busy keeping up with it to spend much time reflecting. I’m always secretly thrilled when I get to be a part of a family milestone or celebration. Last Friday was the Kearey’s 10th Wedding Anniversary and they decided to celebrate and mark the moment with a Family Portrait Session. Ten years has brought the Kearey family, among many other things, three amazing children.

One of the things I love most about a shoot like this, is imagining  the Kearey’s sitting back, looking over their wall prints, smiling and feeling awfully proud of the three beautiful children they have raised over the past ten years. The children alone are testament that it has been a wonderful decade.

I really hope you enjoy your images guys and I look forward to shooting your 20th anniversary!
