The wedding of Louise and Tiernan was a long time coming. The couple have been together for the best part of a decade and they have watched their friends all slowly embark into married life, and yet it took Tiernan what seemed like forever to pop the question. Why you ask? Tiernan has an innate fear of public speaking and the thought of giving a speech in front of all his friends and family was just too much! You’ll be happy to know that his speech was flawless and he can now happily avoid microphones for the rest of his days.
The couple had their ceremony and reception at Wollongbar’s Down Convery’s Lane, a rustic, country venue, purpose-built for weddings. It was a beautiful day that just seemed to run as smooth as possible from beginning to end. Congratulations guys!

Melissa and James’ wedding seemed as though it was going to be wet, wet, wet and for most of the day it was. There were glimpses of sunshine throughout the morning, followed by showers and then a little more sunshine. Fig Tree was set up for an outdoor ceremony and the staff were constantly keeping an eye on local radars to navigate the day through the weather. With just a short delay, the ceremony took place and for a while we couldn’t have asked for better conditions. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, birds were singing and circling overhead and there was even a rainbow shining over Byron Bay. It was simply beautiful!
The relief that the break in the weather provided, combined with the light-hearted, charismatic and often humorous delivery of the service by Benjamin Carlyle, meant that everyone’s spirits were lifted and much of the ceremony was spent in bouts of laughter.
The team at Fig Treet Restaurant & Rooms once again provided exceptional service throughout the entire day and the reception was an absolute blast!

I love an emotional wedding and Jess and Sam’s beautiful autumn wedding in Bowral was the most emotional wedding I have ever had the pleasure of attending. Jessica’s dad was in tears when he first saw Jess in her dress. Sam burst into tears as soon as Jess started making her way towards the awaiting guests, and continued throughout the entire ceremony. Sam’s dad was in tears as soon as Sam started crying… and I was tearing up as I went through selecting the images for this post. There were very few handshakes during the post-ceremony congratulations, instead everyone was participating in heartfelt hugs and kisses. It truly was a beautiful moment to be a part of.
This was my first time shooting in Bowral and to say it was gorgeous would be an understatement. The landscape was scattered with autumn trees in full colour and pretty little vineyards around every corner. Special thanks to McVitty Vineyard for allowing us to shoot on their spectacular driveway. Jess and Sam chose Peppers Craigieburn for their ceremony and reception and their grounds were certainly some of the best in the region.
If you are thinking of getting married in the Southern Highlands region, please call me… I can’t wait to shoot here again!

Some people travel far and wide to find the perfect location for their wedding. Others have it all right in their own backyard (or in this case, their parent’s backyard). Amy’s parents live on a gorgeous property in The Pocket, just north of Byron Bay and their 100 year old dairy shed made the perfect setting for the couple’s special day.
Amy and David are two of the nicest and most welcoming people you could ever wish to meet. Even though I was essentially nothing more than the hired help, all day I was treated as though I was a long time friend and they both went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I noticed the same consideration was made for everyone present and on a day that is supposed to be all about them, they ensured everyone was having a great time.
At one point I noticed a tattoo on Amy’s foot of the Olympic rings. When I questioned her she responded with, ‘Oh yeah, I was in the 2008 Beijing Olympics’, like it was no big thing. It turns out that not only did she attend, but she and her water polo teammates came home with Bronze medals.
After a magical ceremony on The Pocket property, everyone made their way to Harvest Cafe at Newrybar for Amy and David’s reception. Surrounded by family and friends, great food, impeccable service and quality entertainment, it was the perfect way to cap off a perfect day. Thank you Amy and David for letting me be apart of your amazing day!

Kym and Kent’s magical day started at the Ramada Hotel & Suites in Ballina. Kym and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup styled by Jessica Briggs. Jess always does such lovely, natural work and the results photograph beautifully. The boys were all getting ready just down the hall, with a little whiskey to help things along.
The ceremony was held in the grand old Alstonville Uniting church which celebrated its 100th anniversary just a few years ago. The couple were joined by more than a hundred of their family and friends who all witnessed a wonderfully heartfelt service.
From there everyone made their way up to Down Convery’s Lane at Woollongbar for drinks and canapes and later dinner, more drinks and a whole lot of dancing.
